Deontay Wilder defends title against Artur Szpilka

Deontay Wilder

On January 16th, Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (35W-0L-34KO’s) will defend his WBC heavyweight title against the southpaw Artur Szpilka (20W-1L-15KO’s) of Poland at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Wilder seems to be slowly increasing his opponent level, which is too slow for some, but Szpilka is not a push over. Standing at 6’3” with a 77” reach, he has only lost to the then undefeated Bryant Jennings, but has since been on a 4 fight winning streak where he defeated Tomasz Adamek. Wilder stands at 6’7” with a 83” reach, but this fight should not be taken lightly. I spoke with someone that is familiar with Szpilka and has seen him train, and has confirmed his toughness and grit.

Artur Szpilka

Look forward to this fight being competitive and a great way to gage the toughness of both fighters. If Wilder wins impressively, this will add to his claim at greatness, but if he loses, it will give his critics ammo to rip his career to shreds.

Tune in on the 16th of January to see what could be a great fight to start the year off.
