Fallen Champion

Joshua Cobb

In the society we live in, it has a way of making us cherish our great days in hind sight because we don’t realize it was a great day until it’s gone; many times I’ve woken up thinking that yesterday was a good day. When it comes to death, we often view it the same, which makes accepting death harder because we are forced to look backwards and wishing we would’ve done things that are no longer possible. I lost my friend Joshua Cobb, to what seems like a random act of violence, and I can’t help but look backwards at the good days!

Joshua was the kind of guy that looked forward to doing better so he could help other people, mainly his mom, which he told me numerous of times. He always had aspirations of being a champion because that’s what drove him. I’m glad I got to know him in and out of the ring, and I hate it was a few weeks since the last time we spoke. Whether he can hear me now or not, I have a letter for him.

Letter to Joshua:

Bruh, I looked forward to seeing your next fight that I know you were going to win, and the belt that we would’ve both held up in the air knowing we finally got to one of your milestones. We would’ve driven home with you laughing about all the people that doubted you, and how you’re going to continue to get stronger. I’m going to miss you my friend, and even though I know you’re in a better place, it is still hard for me to know that you won’t be around to reach your ultimate goal of being a champion and working towards being the greatest.

PKC Promotions is giving an honorary belt to you during their next show, which we’re going to give to your family…. So know that you are a champ to us and always will be!

Rest easy Champ…
