On Saturday, May 17th, 2025, undefeated American powerhouse Destiny Day-Owens returns to the ring against Colombia’s own Katerin Tobon in a clash for the UBF 147 lbs Welterweight World Championship, hosted at the legendary Coliseo de Pescaito in Santa Marta.
This bout, sanctioned by the Santa Marta Commission and overseen by UBF Supervisor Maria Angelica Sanchez Ruiz, is a rematch over two years in the making. The first encounter, back in 2022, ended in dramatic fashion when Day-Owens scored a knockout victory over Tobon, launching her rise as one of boxing’s most feared contenders.
Since that night, Day-Owens has stopped six more opponents in brutal fashion, keeping her record unblemished at 12-0 with 8 knockouts. Her combination of power, precision, and poise in the ring has made her a rising star and a true threat in the welterweight division.
