Adrien Broner might have a glass ceiling

Adrien Broner was humiliated by Marcos Maidana, and not because of the a** whooping he took, but because of his over the top persona that he carries. If he was a humble fighter and he lost to Maidana the fans would have responded closer to “brush it off and get back on the horse champ,” instead of “TALK THAT ISH NOW N***A!” I have never really been a Broner fan, and not because his father brushes his hair and things of that nature, but because I’ve never thought he was as good as people thought he was. Did the Maidana massacre bring things into perspective for Broner and his team? I don’t think it did!

Last Saturday Adrien Broner got in the ring against John Molina Jr in what should have been a fight to show his new found goods or refocused determination, but I didn’t see any of that. I saw little to no improvements what so ever in his defense or offense. He was the same fighter that got dry humped while the crowd applauded. If he was fighting Maidana and not Molina, not only would he have lost again, this time it would have been by knockout and would have potentially ended his career.

Broner got the win by unanimous decision, which is good, but he was not impressive doing it. Molina was in the fight the entire time where it should have been a landslide. Hopefully Broner and his team will look at the fight and see what needs to be tweaked, but if they didn’t do it after he lost, why would they do it after he won!?! I don’t think Broner will ever make it to the level he believes he’s on unless he changes his team and his dedication to his craft.
